Langley blows out Edison in non-district football contest

The 3-0 start in Saxons first since the 1991 season

The Langley Saxons improved to 3-0 for the first time since the 1991 season with a 43-6 road rout over the Edison Eagles in non-district football action Sept. 13.

Langley led 28-0 at the end of the first quarter and 35-0 at halftime, as the Saxons amassed 348 total yards.

Langley had five rushing touchdowns by five different players – Cannon Clarke, Jackson Popovich, Mark Muehlheuser, Hudson Eberline and quarterback Cole Samburg. The team ran for 228 yards, as Robert Roncskevitz was the leading rusher with 86 yards. Popovich ran for 59 and Samburg for 38.

Samburg was 11 of 15 passing for 115 yards. He threw a 22-yard scoring pass to Clarke.

Muehlheuser caught four passes for 35 yards, Elias Dyrud caught three for 21 and Popovich two for 33.

Mateo Arboleda kicked three extra points.

On defense for Langley, Charles Langpaul had two sacks and three tackles for losses, Eberline had a sack, and William Whitson, Wyatt Kenny, Gannon Pascual, Chandler Bowles and Zand Amani were other tackling leaders. Bowles had an interception and fumble recovery, as did Ellinton Roane.
