Four local teams atop division swim standings with 3-0 records

Four local teams remain in first place, either tied or by themselves, with 3-0 records in their respective divisions after three weeks of action in the summertime’s Northern Virginia Swimming League.

The Tuckahoe Tigers are tied for first in Division I with Overlee of Arlington.

In Division 4, the Oakton Otters are alone in first, as are the Vienna Aquatic Club Gators in Division 5, with the Shouse Village Sharks tied for first in Division 14.

All four won meets in July 1 action.

Tuckahoe defeated the 0-3 McLean Marlins, 270-150, Oakton downed Hiddenbrook, 238-182, Vienna Aquatic outscored Sleepy Hollow Recreation, 254-165, and Shouse Village won over Parliament by a  252-168.

For Tuckahoe in its meet, double race-winners were Nolan Dunkle, Andrew Pelaez, Daniel Klett, Kaitlin Gorelik and Josie Gieseman. Single winners were Danielle Hughes, McKinley Nielsen, Vivi Passos, Lucas Zhao, Vikas Chawla, Maddie Nielsen, Thomas Foy, Esme Haggard, Nolan Bartkowski, Nathan Brown, Lily Duong, Isabella Cota-Robles, Rory Roed, Issac Bell and Grant Nielsen.

For McLean, the double race-winners were Kate Shumate, Christina Lee and Juliana Capello. Single winners were Kristin Sargen, Daniel Vladimiroff, Brandon Bedestani, Nathan Lee, Janni Weeks, Joey Ferris and Cole Popovich.

McLean’s 8-under boys freestyle relay of Atticus Henry, Henry Weeks, Tyson Wager and Nathan Lee set a NVSL record in 1:07.95.

Leading Oakton in its win were double race-winners Chelsea McLenahan, Vivian Warren and Laura Roth. Single winners were Patrick Walsh, Henry Van Brackle, Andrew Garver, Beau Souders, Jake Nossaman, Charlie Warren, Brady Schneider, James Hayden, Benke Grobler, Anna Roth, Aubrey Swanson, Grey Brower, Gracie Whittington and Leena Knepper.

For Vienna Aquatic, double race-winners were Kate Bagley, Michael Bagley, Corinne Bendza, Beckett Cummins, Amar Oak and Noah Yazdani. Single winners were Kahari Alleyne, Taylor Bailey, Zoe Bierhanzl, Ethan Caldwell, Maria De Luigi, Stella Mastroianni, Annie Meenaghan, Aidan O’Toole, Owen O’Toole, Mia Rakas and Ellie Song.

Leading Shouse Village were double race-winners Nicholas Alexandrescu, Ben Phillips, Ryan Chen, Maxwell Thompson, William Bouharoun, Stella Thompson and Amelia Erwin. Single winners were Grace Riihimaki, Teresa Yoshihara, Mary Collins, Evelyn Coleman, Emha Franklin, Elena Jones, Emma Zheng, Quinn Riihimaki, Alexander Collins, Rashad Amirullah, Charles Williams and Edward Coleman.
