Conflicting stories about assault leave police limited options

Officers directed the two parties to take their case to magistrate
police-61

On July 25 around 3:20 a.m., a resident of the 100 block of Patrick Street, S.E., reported to Vienna police that an assault had taken place.

The parties gave conflicting accounts of what had transpired, and a lack of physical evidence hindered the determination of which party had been the primary aggressor, police said.

The individuals involved were advised of the process for obtaining an arrest warrant from the magistrate’s office.
