Fairfax County’s home sales in June outpaced the county’s competition for Mid-Atlantic supremacy.
The 1,192 consummated home transactions for the month in Fairfax compared to 1,188 in Philadelphia, which typically leads the Mid-Atlantic corridor.
Figures were reported by Bright MLS, based on figures from MarketStats by ShowingTime.
Neither had a particularly stellar month: Fairfax sales were down 9.2 percent year-over-year while Philadelphia’s were off 15 percent.
The (alleged) City of Brotherly Love still holds a commanding lead in year-to-date totals. Through June, its 6,838 sales (down 5.3%) compared to 5,819 (down 1.1%) for Fairfax County.
Figures represent most, but not all, homes on the market. June 2024 figures are preliminary and are subject to revision.
