Virginia Dream FC defeated Villarreal CF 4-2 to capture the UPSL regular season championship at The Cloud in Falls Church on June 15, 2024.

Falls Church City’s semi-pro soccer team, Virginia Dream FC, are in the United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) Postseason Championship Game for the second consecutive season.

The team was regular-season champion of the UPSL DMV South and after earning a 3-0 victory this past Sunday, June 30. They will play in, and host, the championship match this coming Saturday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m. at Meridian High School.

The team also has secured a playoff spot in its other competition league, National Premier Soccer League, after barely missing making the playoffs last year.

In only their second year of existence, Virginia Dream FC quickly reached some of its lofty goals on and off the field. In addition to the previously mentioned on-the-field accomplishments, off the field the team has provided internship/job shadowing opportunities for students of the sports-medicine program at  Meridian High School both through the team’s coaching staff and the team’s conditioning facility, Arlington Personal Fitness.

In fulfilling the team’s vision of blending fashion, art and music with soccer, the team’s kit designs have been featured on SoccerBible for the second year in a row and received worldwide recognition – something very rare at the semi-pro level of soccer.
