Kuwait Airways in August 2023 announced plans to serve Washington Dulles International Airport later in the year

Kuwait Airways has announced plans to begin service to Washington Dulles International Airport three times per week starting in mid-December.

The airline plans to use Airbus A330-800 NEO aircraft for the 6,575-mile journey between Dulles and Kuwait International Airport. Travel time is blocked at 12 hours, 30 minus eastbound and 13 hours, 55 minutes westbound.

According to the announced schedule, flights will operate Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with Flight 115 departing Kuwait at 8 a.m. and arriving in Washington at 1:55 p.m. Return Flight 116 will depart Dulles at 4:30 p.m., arriving in Kuwait at 1 p.m. the following day.

Kuwait Airways traces its roots to the establishment of Kuwait National Airways in the early 1950s. Currently a government-owned airline, plans have been in the works for several years to privatize operations.
