MAN BANNED FROM VIENNA PRESCHOOL AFTER ALLEGEDLY MAKING THREATENING GESTURES: An employee at FB Meekins Preschool, 900 Maple Ave., E., on Sept. 9 at 1:24 p.m. reported a suspicious man allegedly was walking past the school and making threatening gestures toward students and teachers, Vienna police said.

Officers spoke to the man and trespassed him from the school, police said.

DISORDERLY MAN BANNED FROM VIENNA RESTAURANT: An employee at McDonald’s, 544 Maple Ave., W., told Vienna police on Sept. 5 at 12:40 p.m. that a disorderly man in the restaurant allegedly was yelling and making threats toward the manager.

At the employee’s request, the man was trespassed from the restaurant and advised that he may be charged if he returned.

A short time later, local residents reported the same man was acting disorderly while walking through the neighborhood near Roland Street and Liberty Lane, S.W.

Officers located the man on Johnson Street, S.W., but there was no indication he had committed any crime, police said.

MAN BANNED FROM VIENNA RESTAURANT AFTER ARGUMENT: An employee at The Red Bird-Hot Chicken & Fries, 282 Cedar Lane, S.E., on Sept. 9 at 4:39 p.m. reported a disorderly man to Vienna police.

Officers spoke to the man, who told police he had been seated outside the restaurant with another man when the employee asked him to leave, which led to an argument.

At the employee’s request, police trespassed the man from the premises.

DRIVER CHARGED AFTER ALLEGED SECOND DWI: A Vienna police officer on Sept. 6 at 12:31 a.m. reportedly observed a driver commit a traffic offense and initiated a traffic stop near Kingsley Road and Potterton Circle, S.W.

Upon interacting with the driver, the officer detected signs of impairment, police said.

Police arrested the 35-year-old Falls Church man after he allegedly failed to complete a series of field-sobriety tests. Police took him to the Vienna Police Station, where he provided a sample of his breath for analysis, then transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated (second offense).

MAN, 28, CITED FOR ALLEGED PUBLIC DRINKING IN VIENNA: A Vienna police officer on Sept. 6 at 12:56 p.m. reportedly observed a man drinking alcohol in public near Park Street and Adam Road, S.E.

Police issued a summons to the 28-year-old Fairfax man and released him on his signature.

2 MEN SOUGHT AFTER STEALING WINE FROM VIENNA CONVENIENCE STORE: An employee at 7-Eleven, 537 Maple Ave., W., informed Vienna police on Sept. 6 at 10:19 p.m. that two men had entered the store, stolen wine and fled the area in a vehicle.

VIENNA STORE REFUSES TO BUY FIREARM WITHOUT KNOWING ITS PROVENANCE: A local resident found a firearm while cleaning out a vacant house in Washington, D.C., and tried to sell it at Vienna Gun & Gold, 386 Maple Ave., E., on Sept. 7 at 10:52 a.m., Vienna police said.

The employees were unable to take the gun without knowing its history, so the resident turned the firearm over to an officer for destruction, police said.

WOMAN REPORTS FRAUDULENT CHARGES AFTER CREDIT CARD IS STOLEN FROM WALLET IN VEHICLE: A resident living in the 1100 block of Lakewood Drive, S.W., told Vienna police on Sept. 7 at 8:46 p.m. that she had begun receiving notifications of fraudulent charges to one of her credit cards.

She later found the card had been stolen from her wallet, which she had left in her vehicle, police said.

VIENNA MAN, 32, CHARGED WITH PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS AFTER RESTAURANT DISPUTE: An employee at Pazzo Pomodoro, 118 Branch Road, S.E., informed Vienna police on Sept. 8 at 1:39 a.m. reported a customer was refusing to pay his tab and leave the restaurant.

Upon interacting with the 32-year-old Vienna man, police reportedly detected signs of impairment, arrested the man and transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with being drunk in public.

VIENNA WOMAN’S CAR STOLEN USING SPARE KEY LEFT INSIDE: A resident living in the 9600 block of Counsellor Drive, N.W., told Vienna police that sometime between Sept. 10 at 7:30 p.m. and Sept. 11 at 6:45 a.m. her vehicle had been stolen from in front of her home.

The woman told police she had left her purse with a spare key inside the vehicle when she parked it on the roadway.

VIENNA RESIDENT SAYS PIZZA-DELIVERY DRIVER DAMAGED CARPORT: A pizza-delivery driver pulled into a resident’s driveway in the 100 block of Kingsley Road, S.W., on Aug. 27 at 11:50 a.m., struck a pole on the carport and left the scene without leaving information, Vienna police said.

MOTORIST CITED FOR TEXTING WHILE DRIVING AFTER STRIKING 2 PARKED VEHICLES: A motorist traveling eastbound in the 700 block of Kingsley Road, S.W., on Sept. 1 at 4:45 p.m. reportedly lost control and struck two legally parked vehicles, Vienna police said.

Authorities towed the striking vehicle and one of the parked vehicles from the scene. The second parked vehicle was damaged, but drivable, police said.

Police issued the driver a summons charging texting while driving.

DRIVER RECEIVES 2 SUMMONSES AFTER STRIKING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN VIENNA: A motorist traveling eastbound on Marshall Road, S.W., on Sept. 8 at 6:55 p.m. reportedly disregarded the stop sign and attempted to turn left onto Hillcrest Drive, Vienna police said.

The vehicle then struck another that was headed northbound on Hillcrest Drive turning left onto Marshall Road, causing the second vehicle to strike road signs and come to a stop in the yard at 400 Marshall Road, S.W.

Police issued the driver of the striking vehicle summonses charging failure to obey a stop sign and driving outside the provisions of the motorist’s learner’s permit.
