Yorktown's Jacob Kirshner, front, and Roger Allenbaugh were chosen to play in an all-star match.

While three Yorktown High School ice hockey players will participate in an all-star classic April 15, five from the Washington-Liberty team already competed in a similar event.

From Yorktown, forwards Jacob Kirshner and Roger Allenbaugh and goalie Ander Andreev were chosen for the event at the St. James complex in Springfield, starting at 1:40 p.m.

Kirshner scored 12 goals and had 21 assists for Yorktown during the regular season and playoffs, and Allenbaugh scored 21 goals and had eight assists.

Yorktown was in the Patrick Division of the Northern Virgina School Hockey League during the 2022-23 season.

Playing in the main Capital Scholastic Hockey League all-star event from Washington-Liberty were Kai Behrens, Will Jamieson and Will Clarke.

The league also held a rising-stars (freshman and sophomore) all-star match, with Lucas Everett, Simson Jackson and Brian Murphy playing from W-L.

Both teams had winning records during the 2022-23 seasons. Washington-Liberty defeated Yorktown, 3-1, in the season-ending match between the Arlington rivals.
