Storm Black baseball team wins Coach Fox Classic

The Storm 10-under Black won the recent Sam Fox baseball tournament with a 5-0 record.

With a 5-0 record, the Arlington Babe Ruth 10-under Storm Black baseball team won the recent Coach Sam Fox Tournament.

In the playoff, the Storm defeated Sterling, 9-1, the Fairfax Stars Santee ,13-0, and the Falls Church Copperheads, 18-3, in the championship game.

In early-round pool-play action, the Storm downed the Sterling XPlosion, 15-8, and Stars Santee ,16-0.

One of the hitting leaders for the Storm was Teddy LeCompte. He had 12 hits in 15 at-bats, including four doubles and a triple. Matt Ryan and Bruce Buczek both batted over .600.

Dexter Hinkle and Christian Tallent led the way on the mound. They threw a combined nine-plus innings, allowing only two hits while striking out 11.

Other Storm players were Chase Langley, Flynn Juza, Caleab Burke, Bryce Donnelly, Hudson Wilkins, Ryan Potter, Connor Bristow and Carl Erickson.

The coaches were David Juza (head coach) and assistants Brian Langley, Andy Buczek and Jeff Hinkle.
