As they prepare for the 2023 varsity high-school football season, the Yorktown Patriots played an away scrimmage the morning of Aug. 12 in Alexandria against the Bishop Ireton Cardinals.
Yorktown is scheduled to open the season with a non-district home game against the W.T. Woodson Cavaliers on Friday, Aug. 25 at 7 p.m. Yorktown was a 6D North Region playoff team last season and tied for second in the Liberty District.
