Marymount University’s seven-team Division III fall athletic season was scheduled to begin Aug. 30 with the men’s and women’s cross country and soccer teams and the women’s volleyball squad all in action.

The cross country squads, under the direction of new head coach Kameron Blanding, participate in the Baltimore Metro Meet  on Aug. 30, hosted by Goucher College.

The defending Atlantic East tournament-champion women’s soccer team opens the 2024 campaign Aug. 30 in Winchester against Shenandoah University, then meets Washington College on Sept. 1 in Chestertown, Md.

The Marymount men’s soccer team also starts Aug. 30 with a 7 p.m. home match against Dickinson College at Long Bridge Park. The men remain at home for their second match, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. against Hampden-Sydney College.

The volleyball team starts Aug. 30 and 31 with a couple of matches each date in Virginia Beach at the Marlin Invitational, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University. Marymount faces Geneva College and William Peace University on Aug. 30, then Virginia Wesleyan and Kean University on Aug. 31.

The volleyball team won the Atlantic East Conference tourney last season, finishing with a 17-15 record.

Marymount’s men’s golf team opens play as a participant in the Blazer Invitational in Maryland on Sept. 3, hosted by Hood College. The women’s golf squad begins play Sept. 7-8 at the Shenandoah Invitational in Winchester. Both Marymount golf squads won the most recent Atlantic East Conference tournaments.

Regular seasons include just a handful of matches for the Marymount golf teams, but last until late October or early November for the other squads.
