Donaldson Run, Arlington Forest drop opening swimming meets

Teams' second meets also will be on the road in June 24 action

The Donaldson Run Thunderbotls fell on the road in McLean to the defending Division I champion Chesterbrook Tiger Sharks, 222.5-197.5, the morning of June 17 in the opening week of the Northern Virginia Swimming League’s season in Division 1 action.

Double race-winners for Donaldson Run were Theo Cahill, Miles Ledford, Pippa Chinn-Fatt and Rachel Conley. Single winners were Michael Maloney, Mitchell Robinson, Jack Tsuchitani, Lila Sherman, Nora Sherman and Eleanor Wertzler.

Setting team records were James Madden in the 11-12 backstroke and the boys freestyle relay of Carter Blizzard, Luke Bracken, Luke Brennan and Cahill.

• The Arlington Forest Tigers lost on the road to the Sully Station Supersonic Transporters,  221-199, on June 17 in opening-week action of the Northern Virginia Swimming League.

For the Tigers, Eli Martin set a new 15-18 boys backstroke record in 27.85, which broke David Gallion’s mark of 28.28 in the Division 9 competition.

Double race winners for Arlington Forest were Cole Klapmust and Anna Dansereau. Singles winners were Martin, Layla Landgraf, Alexandra Seidman, SoLo Mohr, Avery Andrade, Avery Johnson, Dylan Tallis, Brandon Dasch, Ella Turner and Olivia Willard.
