Nearly 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items were donated to the Arlington Food Assistance Center during the Aug. 25 “welcome home” ceremony for Olympian Torri Huske.

Huske had requested that people attending the event, hosted by the Arlington government at the Long Bridge Park Aquatics Center, bring food for the social-safety-net organization.

Huske, a 2021 Yorktown High School graduate, won five medals (three golds and two silvers) at the recent Summer Games in Paris. A standout swimmer at Yorktown High School, she currently attends Stanford University.
