It’s official: Republicans have a candidate for Arlington County Board. And that makes it a foursome.

Juan Carlos Fierro, a native of Ecuador who has lived in Northern Virginia for four decades, has qualified for the ballot, Arlington election officials confirmed.

Fierro, who has been active at recent Republican Committee meetings, will join a field that includes recently nominated Democrats Maureen Coffey and Susan Cunningham and perennial independent Audrey Clement for the two seats on the Nov. 7 ballot.

Incumbent Democrats Katie Cristol and Christian Dorsey did not seek re-election. Cristol is leaving office on July 4 to take a leadership position with an advocacy group in Tysons.
