If you think you are seeing more red-light-enforcement cameras sprouting across Arlington, your eyes are not deceiving you.

County officials are in the process of installing new cameras at numerous intersections, with work running through the end of the year.

Being installed this month are cameras at eastbound and westbound Columbia Pike at Washington Boulevard; westbound Langston Boulevard at Spout Run Parkway; southbound Spout Run Parkway at Langston Boulevard; eastbound and westbound 10th Street North at North Barton Street; and westbound Langston Boulevard at North Lynn Street.

Throughout August, violators will receive warning notices; beginning Sept. 1, the owners of vehicles caught on camera running red lights will receive $50 civil citations in the mail.

By the end of the year, county officials anticipate adding enforcement cameras at westbound Wilson Boulevard at North Lynn Street; northbound North Lynn Street at Wilson Boulevard; and westbound Langston Boulevard at the eastbound Interstate 66 Exit 72 off-ramp.
