ASSAULT ON POLICE:

• On Sept. 18 at 3:38 p.m., a man entered a business in the 3100 block of Wilson Boulevard and allegedly began concealing merchandise, Arlington police said.

After an employee confronted him, the suspect allegedly exited the store without payment and fled on foot, police said.

A lookout was broadcast and a responding officer located a person matching the suspect’s description in the Clarendon Metro station. The officer issued commands to the suspect, who reportedly was noncompliant and actively resisted arrest, during which the suspect allegedly grabbed the officer, police said.

With the assistance of additional responding officers, the suspect was taken into custody, police said. The suspect sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention, police said.

The suspect – 29-year-old Antonni Florez-Diaz of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with assault on police, shoplifting, obstruction of justice, possession of Schedule III/IV/V/VI substance and public intoxication. He was held without bond.

MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB:

• On Sept. 15 at 1:26 a.m., a man was inside his vehicle at a stop sign at the intersection of South Greenbrier Street and 8th Road South when he honked his horn at a vehicle in front, Arlington police said.

Three male suspects then exited a white truck and assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene, police said. The victim suffered injuries described as serious, but non-life-threatening and was transported to a local hospital. There are no suspect descriptions.

ROBBERY:

• On Sept. 13 at 9:05 p.m., a man at home in the 2500 block of 20th Road South had answered the door when two suspects forced entry and struck him, Arlington police said.

One of the suspects brandished a firearm while the other rummaged through the residence before stealing the victim’s personal documents and bank cards, police said.

The suspects, described as black males with thin builds and wearing face coverings, fled the scene in a black sport-utility vehicle driven by a third suspect, police said.

The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention, police said.

• On Sept. 13 at 7:19 p.m., a youth was standing outside a residential building in the 1700 block of North Troy Street when he was approved by two juvenile males, Arlington police said.

The suspects shoved the victim to the ground, assaulted him and attempted to steal his belongings before subsequently fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

The victim sustained minor injuries but did not require medical attention, police said.

The suspects are described as black males, in their teens, 5’10” or 5’11”, one with braids. Both were wearing face coverings.

• On Sept. 15 at 2:58 a.m., four men were in a parking lot in the 3200 block of Wilson Boulevard when they became involved in a verbal dispute with a group of male and female suspects, Arlington police said.

The suspects briefly left the area and, upon returning, a male and female suspect assaulted one of the victims, police said. The suspects then stole jewelry and car keys from the victims and entered the victims’ vehicle, attempted to steal it and caused property damage, police said.

The suspects then fled the scene in their vehicle, described as a red SUV.

Two victims sustained minor injuries and did not require medical attention, police said.

The suspects are described as a black male wearing a white tank top; a light skinned black female, 5’10” or 5’11”,  wearing a light-colored crop top with light-colored pants; and two black females, 5’6” or 5’7”, heavyset.

• On Sept. 16 at 12:02 a.m., a man was walking in the 2600 block of South Troy Street when he was approached by three juveniles, one of whom brandished a firearm, Arlington police said.

The suspects then stole an undisclosed amount of cash before entering a black sedan and fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.

Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspects.

The suspects are described as a black male, in his teens, 6’2”, thin, wearing a black hoodie and black jeans; a black male in his teens, wearing all-black clothing; and a black female in her teens, 5’6” or 5’7”, 160 pounds.

• On Sept. 16 at 7:26 p.m., a man entered a business in the 1100 block of South George Mason Drive and attempted to conceal merchandise, Arlington police said.

An employee confronted the suspect, who attempted to leave without paying, and a physical altercation ensued, police said. The suspect subsequently threatened the employee with a metal object and the employee recovered the merchandise before the suspect fled the scene on foot.

The employee sustained injuries described as minor, and was treated on the scene by medics.

The suspect is described as a black male.

• On Sept. 18 at 12:23 a.m., a man was in the lobby of a residential building in the 200 block of 19th Court South when a man approached and allegedly stole electronics, Arlington police said.

The victim confronted the suspect and a struggle ensued before the victim recovered the electronics, police said. No injuries were reported.

The suspect – 52-year-old David Kibbey of Arlington – was located on the scene. He was arrested and charged with robbery and public intoxication.

• On Sept. 18 between 1:51 and 2:21 a.m., two men who are acquaintances were engaged in conversation inside a residence when the suspect assaulted the victim with a cane before threatening him with a knife and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash, Arlington police said.

The suspect then left the home, police reported. No injuries were reported. The suspect is described as an Hispanic male, 6’3”, 160 to 180 pounds.

• On Sept. 18 at 3:08 p.m., a juvenile was walking in the 3500 block of 2nd Street South when he was approached by three juvenile males, Arlington police said.

One of the individuals assaulted the victim and attempted to steal his personal property, police said, before fleeing on foot. No injuries were reported.

• On Sept. 18 at 5:11 p.m., a man entered a business in the 2800 block of Columbia Pike and had collected merchandise when an employee confronted him, Arlington police said.

The suspect then made threatening statements before exiting the store without payment and fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’8”, with a thin build.

PEEPING:

• On Sept. 13 at 11:16 p.m., a woman was inside her home in the 1100 block of North Randolph Street when she observed a man looking into the window of the home, Arlington police said.

The victim yelled and the suspect fled the scene on foot, police said.

Responding officers canvassed the area for the suspect, yielding negative results. The suspect is described as white male wearing a yellow shirt.

BURGLARY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• Sometime between Sept. 13 at 8:30 p.m. and Sept. 14 at 11 a.m., the garage of a home in the 2300 block of North Danville Street was burglarized.

Two bicycles were taken, but later were recovered.

• During the overnight hours of Sept. 14-16, a suspect or suspects made entry into a home in the 900 block of South Veitch Street, then forced entry into an unoccupied bedroom before leaving the scene.

Nothing was stolen during the incident.

• Sometime between Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. and Sept. 19 at 3:30 p.m., a vacant home in the 6000 block of 26th Road North was entered. The individual subsequently left the scene.

RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE:

• On Sept. 13 at 2:52 p.m., an Arlington police officer located a parked and unoccupied vehicle in the area of North Veitch Street at Wilson Boulevard that previously had been reported stolen, Arlington police said.

A short time later, the officer observed a male suspect and female subject return to the vehicle, police said.

As the officer approached, the male suspect ran from the vehicle, police said. Additional responding officers established a perimeter, observed the suspect running in the area and, following a foot pursuit, took him into custody at Langston Boulevard and North Adams Street.

The suspect – 20-year-old Jean Doisier of Silver Spring, Md. – was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and obstruction of justice.

VEHICLE THEFT:

• On Sept. 16, Arlington police reported that on Sept. 13, a silver 2003 Toyota Solara with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 4100 block of Henderson Road; on Sept. 14, a gray 2016 Kia Soul with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 1000 block of North Manchester Street; and on Sept. 14, a blue 2002 Toyota Sienna with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 1000 block of North Montana Street.

• On Sept. 18, Arlington police reported that, a day before, a blue BMW iX with Virginia plates was reported stolen from the 900 block of North Rochester St.

• On Sept. 19, Arlington police reported that a day before, a yellow 2024 Chevrolet Express with Maryland plates was reported stolen from the 1200 block of South Joyce Street.

LARCENY FROM AUTO:

• On Sept. 15 at 12:18 a.m., Arlington police responded to reports that a man had broken the windows of at least four parked, unoccupied vehicles in the vicinity of Wilson Boulevard and North Adams Street.

The suspect stole electronics, clothing and personal items from the vehicles before fleeing, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his mid- to late 20s, wearing all-black clothing.
