A formal open house and dedication will be held in the autumn, but Arlington’s new Fire Station #8 is now fully operational.

The station is in the 4800 block of Langston Boulevard, about three blocks west of North Glebe Road. It was constructed on the site of a previous fire station, which dated to the early 1960s.

The new $28 million station has two bays, compared to one at the previous facility, and upgraded living conditions for firefighters. It serves the western and northwestern sections of Arlington.
