On July 24 at 7:24 p.m., a man entered a business in the 700 block of North Glebe Road, allegedly concealed merchandise, attempted to exit without payment and was confronted by loss-prevention personnel, Arlington police said.

The suspect then shoved loss-prevention personnel before fleeing the scene on foot, police said.

No injuries were reported.

A lookout was broadcast and responding officers located an individual matching the suspect's description in the Ballston Metro station, police said. The officers issued commands to the suspect, who was noncompliant, and took him into custody, police said.

During the investigation, the suspect provided officers with false personal-identification information, police said.

The suspect – 24-year-old Omar Holloway of no fixed address – was arrested and charged with robbery and identity theft.
