Police: Firearm-toting felon charged with stealing vehicle

Suspect also was wearing body armor at time of Penrose incident, report says

On Jan. 24 at 5:01 p.m., an officer on patrol at South Courthouse Road and 12th Street South observed a parked, unoccupied vehicle that was determined to have been stolen, Arlington police said.

Three individuals returned to the vehicle; two women were detained, but a man attempted to flee on foot before being taken into custody, police said.

The male suspect was wearing body armor, police said. During the course of the investigation, officers also recovered firearms, pepper spray and a suspected controlled substance.

The suspect – Bruce Hill Jr. of Manassas – was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm by a felon (three counts), grand larceny/motor vehicle theft, receiving a stolen firearm, wearing body armor while committing a crime, carrying a concealed weapon (two counts) and obstruction of justice.
