Arlington County government 55+ programs are held indoors at 55+ Centers unless otherwise noted. A membership (starting at $20 annually) is required to participate.

• A training class on how to improve interaction with those displaying signs related to dementia, led by Caitlin Stauffer of Dementia Friendly Arlington, will be presented on Monday, June 24 at 10 a.m. at Arlington Mill 55+ Center. [Registration #914500-05]

• Travel enthusiast Susan Court will share experiences traveling abroad in Ireland on Wednesday, June 26 at 1 p.m. at Aurora Hills 55+ Center. [Registration #902400-36]

• The opera-appreciation group at Lubber Run 55+ Center will hear musical selections from Gaetano Donizetti’s “Lucia di Lammermoor,” with professional commentary by George Cecchetti, on Wednesday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m. at Lubber Run 55+ Center. [Registration #914300-02]

Karaoke for seasoned citizens, a sing-along with volunteer musician Carl Gold providing backing, will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 6 p.m. at Arlington Mill 55+ Center. [Registration #914304-16]

• An online discussion of the Star-Spangled Banner Flag House in Baltimore, looking at the history of the flag and the women who sewed it, will be led by Jill Peters on Thursday, July 27 at 3:15 p.m. [Registration #914400-30]

• A discussion of Colombia’s history, culture, food, geography and politics will be presented online on Thursday, June 27 at 12:45 p.m. by Lubber Run 55+ Center director Ashley Gomez. It is part of an ongoing series focused on Spanish-speaking nations. [Registration #914400-39]

Downsizing and decluttering tips from Realtor Philippa Main will be presented on Thursday, June 27 at 3 p.m. at Lubber Run 55+ Center. [Registration #914404-03]

• Walter Reed 55+ Center will host an early Independence Day celebration on Friday, June 28 at 1 p.m. [Registration #914899-05]

• A housing fair aimed at seniors will be presented on Friday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Lubber Run 55+ Center. [Registration #914404-04]

• Seniors will take part in the third annual Arlington Pride Festival on Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m. at Long Bridge Park. [Registration #914899-03]
