The Arlington County library system and public broadcaster WETA will celebrate the life and achievements of the late Elizabeth Campbell during the unveiling of an exhibition on Friday, April 7 at 1 p.m. at Shirlington Library.

Campbell (1902-2004) founded the Greater Washington Educational Telecommunications Association and served as president and in other roles for four decades. She also was active in education issues, serving on the Arlington School Board and helping to start one of the earliest co-operative preschools in the region.

The Campbell family has donated Campbell’s desk to the county library system, which has prepared an exhibition about her contributions to the Arlington community.

The April 7 program, which runs through 3 p.m., will include guest speakers, a children’s arts-crafts area, light refreshments and the chance for a photo with Clifford the Big Red Dog.
