Arlington School Board members on July 8 tapped two new principals for the coming school year.

• Jeannette Allen has been bumped up from assistant principal to principal at Arlington Community High School.

During 14 years with the county school system, she has held various administrative positions, including director of secondary education and administrative services and interim assistant superintendent. She previously held positions with the Fairfax County and Alexandria school systems.

• Frances Lee, most recently principal at Ashlawn Elementary School, has been named principal of Escuela Key/Key Elementary School, bringing with her two decades as a bilingual educator.

Lee’s education career began in Ecuador, teaching English as a secondary language, and she previously served as a teacher and assistant principal at Escuela Key. She also has been an assistant principal at Wakefield High School.
