MALICIOUS WOUNDING BY MOB:

• On Aug. 29 at 5:26 p.m., a group of six or seven juveniles approached and assaulted a juvenile victim on Columbia Pike at South Glebe Road, Arlington police said, before fleeing the scene on foot.

Responding officers located three suspects matching descriptions provided by the victim and witnesses and, following foot pursuits, took them into custody. Petitions are pending for them.

The remaining suspects were described as Hispanic juvenile males.

The victim was evaluated by medics and treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening.

ROBBERY:

• On Aug. 26 at 10:44 a.m., an individual was in the 2000 block of Wilson Boulevard when he was approached from behind by a man who allegedly threatened him with a knife while demanding cash, Arlington police said.

The suspect left the area and called police. Responding officers located the suspect in the area and took him into custody.

The suspect – 29-year-old Daeshawn Evans of no fixed address – was arrested, charged with attempted robbery and was held without bond.

• On Aug. 28 at 11:51 p.m., a man was in the 2900 block of South Quincy Street when he was approached by another man who engaged him in conversation, Arlington police said.

The suspect then asked for the victim’s backpack, and when the victim refused, the suspect forcibly took it before fleeing the scene.

The backpack contained clothing and electronics, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male.

• On Aug. 30 at 2:43 a.m., a man entered a business in the 2800 block of South Wakefield Street, collected merchandise and exited the store without paying, Arlington police said.

A second suspect then entered the business and collected merchandise and was confronted by an employee, during which the first suspect, who was outside but visible inside, lifted his shirt to expose a firearm and made threatening statements toward the employee, police said.

The two suspects then exited the store and fled on foot.

The suspects are described as a black male, in his mid to late 20s, and a black female, in her early 30s.

• On Aug. 29 at 10:30 p.m., a juvenile male was in the 300 block of South Harrison Street when an acquaintance came up to him and demanded his shoes, Arlington police said.

When the victim refused, the suspect threatened him with a firearm. The victim turned over the shoes.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5’5”, 140 pounds with short dreadlocks.

PEEPING:

• On Aug. 31 at 6:13 a.m., a woman was inside her residence in the 900 block of South Wayne Street when she observed a man looking into a window of the home, Arlington police said.

The suspect is described as a black male.

BURGLARY/UNLAWFUL ENTRY:

• On Aug. 9 at 10:23 p.m., two men forced entry into a room inside a residential building in the 2700 block of South Quincy Street and stole packages. The incident was reported on Aug. 29.

The suspects are described as black males, one in his 30s and the other in his 20s.

• On Aug. 17 at 10:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at a home in the 900 block of North Fillmore Street, Arlington police said.

According to police, the resident was at home when he heard a noise. Upon investigating, he observed a man attempting to make entry to the home, police said.

The victim spoke to the suspect, who despite being noticed continued attempting to gain entry, police said. The victim then called police, and the suspect left before their arrival.

The suspect is described as an Hispanic male.

• On Aug. 17 at 12:42 p.m., a man entered an apartment in the 1800 block of North Lynn Street and, when the resident called out, exited. No items were reported taken.

The suspect is described as a black male, heavy-set, with braids.

• On Aug 22 between 6:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., a home in the 400 block of Army Navy Drive was burglarized. Electronics and jewelry were taken.

• On Aug. 28 at 12:06 a.m., police were dispatched to Yorktown High School for a report of an activated burglar alarm, Arlington police said.

Upon arrival, officers determined that three juveniles had entered the building and possibly were still inside, police said.

Officers established a perimeter, during which two suspects exited the building. Officers were able to make phone contact with the third suspect, who subsequently exited the building.

The suspects were searched and stolen property was recovered, police said. The suspects were referred to a deferral program.

• On Aug. 28 at 9:04 a.m., an individual returned to her home in the 6700 block of Little Falls Road to find unfamiliar items inside, Arlington police said.

The resident exited the home and called police. Responding officers set up a perimeter and searched the home, taking a suspect into custody.

No items were reported stolen or damaged, police said.

The suspect – 31-year-old Cameron Hughes of Falls Church – was arrested and charged with unlawful entry.

• On Aug. 31 at 1:45 a.m., a man forced entry into a business in the 2500 block of North Harrison Street by shattering a glass door, stealing an empty cash register before fleeing the scene, Arlington police said.

A short time later, it was reported that a suspect forced entry into a business in the 5600 block of Langston Boulevard and stole electronics.

The suspect is described as a  black male.
