Arlington police looking into multiple robbery incidents

Suspects in Dec. 29 and Dec. 31 incidents remain on the loose

The Arlington County Police Department is investigating a number of robbery incidents that occurred in recent days.

• On Dec. 29 at 6:03 p.m., a man entered a business in the 1100 block of South Joyce Street, concealed merchandise and exited without payment, Arlington police said.

Store employees confronted the suspect, during which he threatened them before running from the scene, police said.

Responding officers canvassed the area in search of the suspect, but did not locate him.

The suspect is described as black male, 5’9”, wearing a denim jacket and camouflage ski mask.

• On Dec. 31 at 2:10 p.m., a man entered a business in the 200 block of North Glebe Road, approached an employee and deployed pepper spray before stealing cigarettes, Arlington police said.

The suspect then fled in a black SUV. The victim was treated on scene by medics.

The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black facemask.

• On Dec. 31 at 2:25 p.m., a man was walking in the 4200 block of Fairfax Drive when he was approached from behind by a man who placed a knife to his back and demanded cash, Arlington police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, in his 30s, 5’4”, with a thin build and short curly hair.
