The Arlington County government has received more than $3 million in competitive federal funding in support of its efforts to reduce homelessness.
The funding includes a mix of new and renewed grants to support the county government’s Department of Human Services as well as safety-net providers Doorways for Women and Families, Bridges to Independence, New Hope Housing and PathForward.
“We strive to make homelessness rare, brief and non-recurring,” said Anita Friedman, who heads the county government’s Department of Human Services. “The competitive nature of these awards confirms that our strategic planning, policy development and service delivery continue to be effective.”
