The Arlington-based Aspire! AfterSchool Learning organization has received a two-year grant totaling $50,000, part of $1.8 million in funding to 40 learning programs nationally announced by the New York Life Foundation and the Afterschool Alliance.

“Students today face significant academic, social and emotional challenges, and out-of-school-time programs provide much-needed support,” said Heather Nesle, president of the New York Life Foundation. “These programs have a proven track record of helping students do better in school and build the skills they need for their future success.”

The Afterschool Alliance is a nonprofit public-awareness and advocacy organization working to ensure that all children and youth have access to quality afterschool programs. More information is available at www.AfterschoolAlliance.org.
