A motorist was traveling eastbound on Ayr Hill Avenue, N.E., and approaching the Washington & Old Dominion Regional Trail on Aug 12. at 10:05 a.m. when the vehicle struck a bicyclist who had entered the intersection while riding south on the trail.
The bicycle and vehicle had been moving at low speeds and damage to them was minimal, police said.
The bicyclist was knocked to the ground in the collision. Rescue personnel transported the bicyclist to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
