The Vienna Police Department on May 8 welcomed a new member, Officer Sara Ebrahimi.

Before joining the department, Ebrahimi spent about five years with the Northern Virginia Community College Police Department, serving in its patrol division.

Born in Sari, Iran, Ebrahimi is fluent in Farsi. She initially obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology before relocating to Virginia in 2010. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge, she enrolled at Strayer University in Arlington, earning a master’s degree in health-care administration.

In December 2018, Ebrahimi graduated from the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Academy’s 139th Session.

Despite her demanding career, Officer Ebrahimi embraces the role of being a mother to a toddler. Outside work, she enjoys playing soccer, hiking, weightlifting, running and reading.
