McLean Community Center sets Earth Day schedule

The McLean Community Center will host several events as part of the McLean Earth Day Celebration:

• Plant NOVA Natives will host a table at the Spring Fest celebration on Saturday, April 8 from 10 a.m. to noon, at which there will be free native seeds, lists of where to find native plants locally and other information, and various games.

• The McLean Trees Foundation will present “Native Trees of McLean and How to Plant Them” on Monday, April 10 at 6 p.m. Discussion will include factors to consider when choosing native trees and how to plant them.

• The Fairfax County government’s Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination will present “Personal Climate Action Planning” on Tuesday, April 18 at 1 p.m.

• The Earth Day Celebration itself will take place on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to noon as a drive-through, outdoor environmental-action event.
