Three local high school lacrosse players named All-Americans

McLean High School's Max Mullen was one of three local players chosen All-American by USA Lacrosse for their performance during the 2024 spring season.

Three players from the GazetteLeader’s coverage areas were chosen high-school All-Americans by USA Lacrosse for their performances during the 2024 boys spring season.

Madison Warhawks’ senior attack Will Rubley, McLean Highlanders midfielder Max Mullen and Yorktown Patriots senior attack Hudson Greene were selected All-Americans from the 6D North Region of Virginia.

Each were among top scorers for their teams. Rubley and Mullen helped their squads earn Class 6 state tournament berths. Madison also won the 6A North Region tournament and McLean was second.

Rubley scored 81 goals and had 32 assists this past spring when he was chosen first-team all-state and district and region Player of the Year. He will play in college at the University of Lynchburg along with his twin brother, Mark.

Mullen scored 43 goals and had 49 assists for McLean. He also caused 22 turnovers and gathered 67 ground balls. Mullen is yet undecided where he will play in college.

Greene helped Yorktown win the Liberty District tournament championship. He scored 57 goals and had 49 assists this past season.

Greene finished his high-school career as Yorktown’s all-time scoring leader with 300 points. Green will play in college at  Division III Bowdoin College in Maine.
