There were a number of local first-place finishers at the 6D North Region girls and boys track and field champions, including three double winners.
Langley High School’s Blake Thompson in the boys shot put (48-feet, 6-inches) and discus (156-4), Oakton High’s Logan Ecton in the boys 100 hurdles (14.09) and 300 hurdles (38.24) and Langley’s Zoey McFadyen in the girls 100 (12.35) and 200 (25.3) dash races were those double winners.
Other individual winners were Marshall’s Jada Patrick in the girls shot (37-1), Oakton’s Junior Allen in the boys 800 (1:53.93) and McLean’s boys 4x800 relay (8:00.7) of Luca Hinton, Jackson Coombes, Landon Moore and Liam Riley.
Finishing second in the boys shot and discus was Madison’s Caden Green.
Also second was Madison’s Dominic Knicely in the boys 200, Marshall’s Kanuux Chaudhuri in the boys 400, Oakton’s Aurora Ayala in the girls pole vault, Langley’s Alexandra DeLong in the girls long jump, Marshall’s Arianna Haggerty Graham in the girls shot and the McLean boys 4x100 relay.
Third were DeLong in the high jump, Oakton’s Caroline Sapperstein in the girls 3,200, Madison’s Mia Romer in the girls 300 hurdles and Kiki Van Der Weider in the girls 800, Langley’s Tejus Verma in the boys 400 and Evan Krawczyk in the boys shot, Riley in the boys 800, McLean’s Jonas Knudson in the boys pole vault and McLean’s Carter Lineweaver in the boys 3,200.
DeLong was ninth in the 300 hurdles.
