Oakton grads had strong women's college basketball seasons

Oakton High School graduate Hannah Kaloi was chosen firsts-team all-conference for the Christopher Newport University women's basketball team this winter.

Oakton High School graduate Hannah Kaloi had a standout season for the Division III Christopher Newport University women's basketball team during the winter season.

The 6-foot-1 junior forward was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the Coast-to-Coast Conference tournament, helping the Captains win the championship. She scored 30 points in the two games, had 11 rebounds, blocked a shot and made 6 of 7 foul shots.

Kaloi also was chosen first-team all-conference. For the season she averaged 12.1 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. She made 10 three-pointers, blocked 12 shots and had 17 steals. She missed six games early in the season with an injury. 

In 77 career college games, Kaloi has scored 635 points, has 302 rebounds, 55 steals and 39 blocked shots.

Oakton High grad Caitlin Crump also played for Christopher Newport this past season. In 28 games, the freshman forward averaged 5.3 points and 3.4 rebounds per contest. She made 16 three-pointers, had 32 assists and blocked seven shots.
