The McLean Highlanders continued their winning ways last week with a blowout Liberty District victory in girls softball.
McLean routed the Washington-Liberty Generals, 16-2, in the high-school game. The Highlanders improved to 10-3 overall and remained undefeated and in first place in the district at 6-0.
Hailey Simpson went the distance in the six-inning game to get the win.
With the bat for McLean, Gennie Fagan had two hits with a sacrifice fly and three RBI. Taylor Staats added two hits with a double and four RBI; Gabby Colder had three hits and two RBI; Madeline Staats doubled; Abby Hart and Gigi Norton had RBI singles; E.K. Templer had an RBI double; and Riley Staats, Addison Ward and Emory Hadden each singled.
