Langley wins in NVSL Division 2 swim action, while Oakton loses

Vienna Aquatic Club Violette Yazdani won a race against Vienna Woods in a June 29 meet.

In Division 2 Northern Virginia Swimming League action June 29, the visiting Langley Wildthings (2-1) defeated the McLean Marlins, 251-165. McLean fell to 0-3.

Also in Division 2 the same day, the Oakton Otters (2-1) lost to Crosspointe (3-0), 239-181, in a showdown for first place.

For Langley, double winners were John Alms, Bryce Eaton, Shoshana Feng, Hunter Ashworth, Ella Mueller, Natasha Nesterova, Henry Rossman, Ellora Patel, Marina Watson, Evan Poulos and Felix Yu.

Single winners were Sophie Alexandrova Bailey, Asa Bendahan, Celina Feng, Tessa Jones, Cameron Morris, Divya Pai, Ethan Ramchand, Luca Sanchez and Kira Thornton, Evelyn Volovar.

Leading McLean were double winners Emily Lipsey, Caroline Wager and Nathan Lee. Single winners were Zeke Beitz, Henry Weeks, Christina Lee and Oscar Zhou.

* In an all-Vienna showdown in Division 4 of the NVSL June 29, visiting Vienna Woods (1-1-1) topped the Vienna Aquatic Club Gators (0-3), 216-204.

Double winners for Vienna Woods were Alexa Morgan, Kylie O’Brien, Elliott Rowan, Graham Rowan, Logan Siegrist, Flynn Skelton and Pierce Teufel. Single winners were Ryan Johnson, Jonah Manning, Cooper Morschauser, Lillian Morschauser, Emmett Nguyen, Avery O’Brien, Charlotte Pechulis and J.D. Whitt.

Rowan set a team record (30.82) in the girls age 13-14 backstroke.

Double winners for Vienna Aquatic Club were Thomas Bagley, Elisabeth De Luigi and Stella Mastroianni. Single winners were Michael Bagley, Celia Bredehoeft, Ethan Caldwell, Beckett Cummins, Maria De Luigi, Skye Matanov, Aidan O’Toole, Dylan Prendergast, Annika Rieger, Mia Song, Arden Szustakowski, James Velarde and Violette Yazdani.

* The Hunter Mill Sharks (1-2) defeated the Dunn Loring Dolphins (0-3), 220-199, in an NVSL Division 6 meet June 29.

Double winners for the Sharks were Beckett Candela, Sydney DeLacy, Summer Padilla, Andrew Rose, Abigail Roth and Andrew Sartore. Single winners were Sarah Djoubrailov, Thomas Djoubrailov, Heidi Gilman, Hunter Guthrie, Adrienne Jenks,  Andrew  Reiley, Claire Reiley, Elyse Rosade, Ava Roth, Alexandra Samsot, Charles Stipanovic, Archie Trudel and Julia Tysse.

* In NVSL Division 8 action, the Lakevale Estates Dolphins (0-3) lost to Dowden Terrace, 214.5-204.5.

* In Division 12 NVSL meets June 29, the Shouse Village Sharks (2-1) were in a four-way tie for first place after a slim 206-205 road win over Stratford, and the Great Falls Rapids (1-2) lost to Poplar Tree, 224-196.

For Great Falls, double winners were Benjamin Bertin, Simon Bermudez, Katelyn Rolph, Sophia Daniels and Tyler Maender. Single winners were Henry Ohlhorst, Jenna Wang, Scarlet Dastur, James Lake, Colton Maender, Reid Peoples, Sophia Sandstrom, Evelyn Sanders, Sutton Pierson, Kyla Blayney and Eli Bockman.
