Five players from the Concorde District and 6D North Region tournament champion Madison Warhawks were chosen to Virginia High School League’s Class 6 all-state teams for their performances during the 2024 spring season.
Making first team were senior attack Will Rubley, senior longstick midfielder Ollie Hau and junior defender Henry Maiden.
Selected to the second team from Madison were junior attack Levi Wentz and senior midfielder Duncan Craddock.
Those five Madison players also were chosen first-team all-district and all-region. Rubley was the district and region Player of the Year.
After winning the region championship, two-time defending champion Madison advanced to the semifinals of the state tournament.
Also making first-team all-state from local schools were McLean junior midfielder Max Mullen and McLean senior defender Kaelen Ferris.
McLean finished second in the region tournament to earn a state-tourney berth for the first time in program history, falling in the first round to the eventual champion Robinson Rams.
Langley High’s senior attack Alex Haag was chosen second-team all-state.
Haag, Mullen and Ferris also were first-tam all-district and all-region selections.
