The Flint Hill Huskies begin the 2024 volleyball in a position the girls high-school team has been in for a long time now - defending state champions.

The Huskies won last season's Division I private-school state championship for the 12th time in program history and the sixth time overall. Flint Hill also finished 33-3 last fall and begins the new campaign with a 13-match winning streak.

The new season begins Sept. 6 with a home match against Elizabeth Seton for the Huskies. Other big regular-season matches are against Bishop O'Connell, Collegiate School, St. John's and Georgetown Visitation.

Flint Hill defeated Collegiate and O'Connell in last year's state-tournament semifinals and finals, respectively, under first-year head coach Thai Nguyen.

Top returning players for Flint Hill are Evie Huang, Kadi Pynchon, Hunter Ross, Isabelle Bardin and Audrey Sealock. Other players are Caroline Semko, Avelina Zender, Camdyn Parker, Brecken Paige and Delaney Malloy.

Flint Hill also is the defending Independent School League A Division regular season and tournament champion. That tournament title was the 11th in a row for Flint Hill.
