An employee at Vienna Rexall, 150 Maple Ave., W., reported to Vienna police on  March 25 at 6:12 p.m. that a woman had stolen the store’s tip jar after purchasing her prescription. The employee confronted the woman after she left the store and entered the passenger side of a vehicle.

When other employees came out to assist, the woman returned the tip jar and yelled at the vehicle’s elderly driver to leave the parking lot. When the employees tried to stop the vehicle from leaving, the woman allegedly began pushing the driver’s leg and grabbed the steering wheel to flee the scene, risking the employees’ safety, police said.

The employees declined to pursue charges for the larceny. The reckless driving incident remains under investigation, Vienna police said.
