VIENNA OKs BUSINESS LICENSES, NOTES MILESTONE ANNIVERSARIES: The Vienna town government recently issued business licenses to Beauty Mermaid (online sales), 414 Yeonas Drive, N.W., and Marcillo Mitchel (astrologist), 165 Maple Ave., E.

In addition, the town government noted the following recent milestone business anniversaries:

35 years: Church Street Graphics.

25 years: Giant Food (store 763); Peking Express of Vienna; Trousseau Ltd.

20 years: Duron.

10 years: Carey Sienicki LLC; Cyber Threat Solutions; Samson Properties.

HISTORY ON DISPLAY AT COMMUNITY CENTER: Historic Vienna Inc. is featuring two exhibits at the Vienna Community Center for September.

A poster exhibition  features photos and information about town history, including the railroad, streetcar, Civil War and 1861 secession vote.

As part of Constitution Week, an exhibit will look at the 1787 signing of the U.S. Constitution from Sept. 17-23.

In addition, a new set of photos – “This Is Vienna Then & Now” – will be on display in the window of the Vienna Rexall Pharmacy, 150 Maple Ave., W.

HOLIDAY-DISPLAY NOMINATIONS SOUGHT: The Vienna town government will accept applications from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 for 2024 community holiday displays that will be placed on the Freeman Store lawn from Dec. 2 to Jan. 10.

Three displays that meet design guidelines will be randomly selected for inclusion in the display, which started last year.

LATEST CHILLIN’ ON CHURCH NIGHT ARRIVES: Vienna’s Chillin’ on Church festival series continues on Friday, Sept. 20 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. along Church Street in the town.

The family-friendly event will include music from the Sudden M-Pac Band, food trucks and beer/wine vendors for adults. Admission is free.

Admission is free to the event, which is sponsored by the Vienna town government with support of Delta Dental. For information, see the Website at www.viennvava.gov/chillin.

AMERICAN LEGION PREPS BREAKFAST BUFFET: American Legion Post 180 will host its monthly breakfast buffet on Sunday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. to noon at the post, 330 Center St., N.

The menu includes made-to-order omelets, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, blueberry pancakes, biscuits-and-gravy and cake.

Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for youth under 12. Proceeds will support the post’s youth activities and to send students to Girls State next summer.

CHURCH TO MARK 80 YEARS: Vienna Assembly of God will host an 80th-anniversary service and celebration on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. at the church, 100 Ayr Hill Ave.

AAUW HOSTS PROGRAM ON ELECTION INTEGRITY: The Vienna area branch of the American Association of University Women will present “Elections in Fairfax County: Making Sure Your Vote Counts” on Monday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. at Patrick Henry Library, 101 Maple Ave., E.

Jean Thompson of the Fairfax County Office of Elections will discuss how the office ensures that elections are fair and mitigates potential fraud.
