Graphic from the National Hurricane Center at 3 a.m. on Sept. 16, 2024, shows projected rainfall from a tropical system moving in.

[Update, 9/16/24:]

The GazetteLeader's officials weather partner, AccuWeather, suggests that if things get hairy, flooding could be one possibility owing to significant rainfall – something the region hasn't seen for a while.
