Keep the sunscreen handy. And then the umbrella.

Northern Virginia is about to embark on another stretch of hot-hot-hot weather, with temperatures by midweek next week likely to approach or exceed 100 degrees under mostly sunny skies.

The GazetteLeader's weather partner, AccuWeather, is forecasting highs across Northern Virginia in the mid to upper 90s Monday and Tuesday [7/15-7/16], then 100 degrees on Wednesday. By Wednesday evening, heavy downpours with the potential for high winds and hail move into the forecast.
