The vehicle-wash facility at the Northside Property Yard soon will receive extensive repairs.

The Vienna Town Council on Sept. 23 approved a $128,021 contract to have PBI Environmental Restoration perform the work. The price includes a 20-percent contingency allowance for unexpected factors.

The contractor will replace the facility’s power washer, heating-and-ventilation system and all existing lighting, electrical switches and outlets. In addition, the company will add additional lighting to side walls; paint the facility’s walls and steel support beams; seal the floor with epoxy coating; and upgrade the floor drain and drainage system so as better keep sediment from entering the oil/water separator.

The project, which officials expect to be finished sometime this fall, will be financed using American Rescue Plan Act funds.
