Fairfax County police announced July 23 that they had arrested two men in connection with the death of an unidentified man whose body was found three days earlier in Oakton.

On July 20 around 3:04 p.m., county police dispatched officers to the 9500 block of Route 29 in Oakton after receiving a report that a body had been found in a wooded area. A community member who had been walking on a path in the area noticed the victim lying unresponsive.

The male victim, described as Hispanic and between 20 and 30 years old, had suffered trauma to his body and was declared deceased at the scene, police said. Authorities still are trying to identify the victim.

County police detectives subsequently arrested Maldin Anibal Guzman, 27, and Wis Alonso Sorto-Portillo, 45, both of no fixed address. Authorities have charged both men with malicious wounding by mob and are holding them without bond at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
