Fairfax County police detectives continue to investigate the homicide of an unidentified man whose body was found July 20 in Oakton.
Around 3:04 p.m. that day, police dispatched officers to the 9500 block of Route 29 in Oakton for a body found in a wooded area. A community member who had been walking on a path in the area noticed the victim lying unresponsive. The adult male victim had obvious trauma to his body and was declared deceased at the scene, police said.
Preliminarily, detectives think this was not a random act. The victim is described as Hispanic and between 20 and 30 years old. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to and surrounding his death.
