Fairfax County police detectives are investigating a retail-theft crew who allegedly stole more than $100,000 worth of merchandise from a store at Tysons Galleria June 25 and sprayed a fire extinguisher at a security worker to get away.

Detectives were alerted at 3:42 p.m. a commercial robbery at a high-end retail store in the 2000 block of International Drive in Tysons. Two male and three female suspects reportedly entered the store and grabbed numerous handbags, police said. One male suspect allegedly discharged a fire extinguisher at the loss-prevention employee to facilitate the suspect’s fleeing from the store. No injuries were sustained during the robbery, authorities said.

The group left in a white Alfa Romeo with an unknown suspect driving. Detectives think the suspects are using the same vehicle with stolen or altered license plates.
