On Aug. 14 at 2:02 p.m., police were called to a business in the 100 block of Branch Road, N.E., in Vienna for a report of a verbal dispute between two employees having escalated.

Responding officers heard conflicting stories from the parties, and neither showed signs of injury, Vienna police said.

Individuals were briefed on the warrant process. One of them then went to the magistrate’s office and obtained a summons charging assault on the other, police said.

On Aug. 15, a Vienna officer served the summons on a 31-year-old Vienna woman, who was released on her signature.
