After a calm couple of days on the Northern Virginia weather front Friday and Saturday, there could be some challenging conditions materializing for Sunday [6/30].

"Thunderstorms can bring flash flooding and localized damaging wind gusts" is how the GazetteLeader's weather partner, AccuWeather, puts it.

On the plus side, there will be no more flirting with the 100-degree mark, at least for the near future. And Monday, July 1, currently is looking positively delightful, with highs in the mid-80s, sunny skies and not as much humidity.
