‘HEATHERS: THE MUSICAL’ COMING TO McLEAN: McLean Community Players will present the darkly comic “Heathers: The Musical” with performances July 19-28 at the Alden Theatre of the McLean Community Center.

A spoof of high-school dramas of the 1980s and of musical theater, the show “promises to deliver a night of dark humor, catchy tunes and unforgettable performances,” producers said.

Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25 to $30. For information and tickets, see the Website at https://mcleanplayers.org.

MCC GOVERNING BOARD TO MEET: The McLean Community Center Governing Board will meet on Wednesday, July 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the center.

Any residents wishing to speak during the public-comment period of the meeting can call the center in advance at (703) 790-0123 to be placed on the speakers’ list.

‘SUMMER CONCERTS IN THE PARK’ SERIES KICKS INTO GEAR: The McLean Community Center’s “Summer Concerts in the Park” series kicks into high gear with events throughout July at 4 p.m. at Lewinsville Park.

Upcoming performances include the Billy Coulter Trio (roots rock/power pop), July 21; and Justin Trawick (urban folk rock), July 28.
