Northern Virginians should be prepared for the possibility of rocky conditions tonight [7/17] as weather systems collide.
"Turning out cloudy and very hot; a heavy thunderstorm this afternoon; thunderstorms can bring flooding downpours, hail and damaging wind gusts" is how the GazetteLeader's weather partner, AccuWeather, puts it.
Temperatures will peak in the mid-90s this afternoon, lower than yesterday but hardly cool, before the possibility of storms come in. Highs on the flip side of the storminess will be in the 80s for a number of days.
Thursday also holds the potential of rocky weather conditions, AccuWeather says.
