Detectives with the Fairfax County Police Department’s Child Exploitation Unit are seeking the community’s assistance in investigating potential victims of an alleged online predator.

On June 7 around 6:52 p.m., detectives from McLean District Station received a community tip regarding a man’s alleged inappropriate communication with an underage victim via an Internet platform. Police later located the suspect in Tysons, where he allegedly intended to meet and potentially engage in sexual acts with the victim.

Detectives arrested Gerry Frank Burde, 41, of Herndon, and collected evidence related to the incident. Police took Burde to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with use of a communications system to solicit a minor, attempted forcible intercourse with a victim under 13 years old and indecent liberties with a child under 15.

Detectives believe Burde may have targeted other victims through direct contact or on platforms such as Snapchat (username: drunkslovepunch) or Whisper (username: Tempo_Ex). Police urge anyone who has interacted with Burde to contact detectives at (703) 246-7800, option 6.
