A Vienna police officer on Sept. 6 at 12:31 a.m. reportedly observed a driver commit a traffic offense and initiated a traffic stop near Kingsley Road and Potterton Circle, S.W.

Upon interacting with the driver, the officer detected signs of impairment, police said.

Police arrested the 35-year-old Falls Church man after he allegedly failed to complete a series of field-sobriety tests. Police took him to the Vienna Police Station, where he provided a sample of his breath for analysis, then transported him to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where authorities charged him with driving while intoxicated and driving while intoxicated (second offense).
